Funeral and forensic cleaning expenses

Funeral expenses

If a person has died as a result of a homicide in NSW, the Victims Support Scheme can provide up to $9,500 to a family group to cover the costs of their funeral.

You can apply for financial assistance for funeral expenses if you are a family victim or a funeral director.

For more information, see Funeral Expenses.

Forensic cleaning service providers

Under the Victims Support Scheme, service providers can claim up to $5,000 to cover forensic cleaning costs related to a homicide that occurred in NSW.

If payment is approved, the amount will be paid from the financial assistance available to an eligible family victim.

For more information see Forensic cleaning.
