If a person has died as a result of a homicide in NSW, the Victims Support Scheme can provide up to $9,500 to a family group to cover the costs of their funeral.
You can apply for financial assistance for funeral expenses if you are a family victim or a funeral director.

Under the Victims Support Scheme, service providers can claim up to $5,000 to cover forensic cleaning costs related to a homicide that occurred in NSW.
If payment is approved, the amount will be paid from the financial assistance available to an eligible family victim.
